The direction of travel for the bus market in the UK is firmly towards closer collaboration across the sector. Whether that’s via Enhanced Partnerships and BSIPS or moving to fully franchised networks, this requires bus operators and transport authorities to work even closer together. Data underpins all aspects of this collaboration, from planning the network through to monitoring performance, measuring success and driving improvements. But this doesn’t need a huge investment in new systems. Most of the data already exists and current systems can be easily extended. This session explores the quickest, lowest risk and most cost- effective ways that technology can support Enhanced Partnerships and franchising.
