Display screens at stations will help rebuild trust with passengers to help tackle root causes of rail delays and cancellations.
The UK government has launched a new initiative to increase rail accountability by providing performance data at over 1,700 stations across England, starting from March 6, 2025.
This data includes train punctuality and cancellation rates, displayed on digital screens or accessible through QR codes. This move aims to improve transparency, help passengers hold operators accountable, and drive up service quality.
The initiative is part of broader rail reforms, including the creation of Great British Railways and the Public Ownership Act, which seeks to improve services and save taxpayers money. The government is also meeting with train operators to address performance issues.
